The client was feeling overwhelmed at the thought of organizing the basement. After several major life-changing events, the space had quickly become out of their control.
This client was also overwhelmed at the thought of tackling the basement organization project.

Living Room After
By setting up systems (mail, coats, shoes, personal item flowing into the house), the living room could become a living room for the family to enjoy.
Keep immediate need items available, in this case the snowblower is at the door and ready for service. A couple of minutes or straightening each fall and spring will keep this homeowner within reach of everything they need!
After sorting through each tote and box, we were able to neatly fit all of the clients storage on to shelves they already had. One additional cabinet was purchased to keep frequently used items out of boxes dust free.
This client purged many items throughout this organization process. Many other items were also brought to the basement for storage. Bins are all labeled for easy retrieval.
Home staging is used to show the potential in each space. We use a few techniques to draw buyers in and showcase features in each room. Even rooms that at first glance seem welcoming can benefit from some furniture movement and accessory placement.

We removed the large couch and chair and replaced it with a smaller piece. The cabinet from the master bedroom was brought in to create a nice reading area with accessories. The bookshelf was moved to the opposite side of the window so the room would feel lighter. Finally, we opened up the window to show the beautiful view!
